Ipamorelin 5mg Peptide
In stock
Ipamorelin 5mg is supplied as a research vial of a synthetic pentapeptide. Its selective growth hormone-releasing profile and activity at the ghrelin receptor have attracted research into both endocrine signalling and gastrointestinal motility.
Ipamorelin: selective secretagogue research
Ipamorelin 5mg is a five-amino-acid peptide developed under the research code NNC 26-0161. It is studied as a ghrelin-receptor agonist, with particular interest in its growth hormone-releasing profile and its differences from other peptide secretagogues.
Why selectivity matters
The original pharmacology programme compared ipamorelin's GH response with other pituitary and adrenal hormone responses. Its relative selectivity in those experiments gave researchers a useful tool for investigating GH release without assuming that all secretagogues share the same endocrine profile. Selectivity describes the conditions studied and should not be read as a guarantee of freedom from adverse effects.
Beyond the pituitary: gastrointestinal motility
Ghrelin signalling also participates in gut movement. Animal studies explored ipamorelin's effects on gastrointestinal transit after surgery, leading to a randomised phase 2 trial in bowel-resection patients. That trial measured recovery of tolerance to solid food, illustrating a distinct clinical research direction beyond the GH axis.
The human trial did not show a statistically significant advantage over placebo in its key or secondary efficacy analyses. It nevertheless helps define which translational questions remain open: promising receptor pharmacology and animal findings need confirmation for each proposed clinical outcome.
