Hello!

Some of you may have noticed that for a few days last week starting about this time last Monday, it was incredibly difficult to visit our website. For this we apologise and want to thank all of you who reached out via social media and called our office to let us know, we very much appreciated it.

We experienced a distributed denial-of-service attack (DDOS), If you're familiar with the stories of the Glastonbury Festival website crashing each year due to the number of people on it at once. While I'd love to tell you it was driven exclusively by the huge interest in our 3FOR2 blackfriday deal through November, it was mainly artificially caused by thousands upon thousands of bots (infected devices across the world) causing many-millions of requests per hour. From what we can tell it was specifically targeted towards us to coincide with the sale, although it's not clear why or who that would be.

We want to assure you we have taken this extremely seriously and we have now added multiple layers to guard against this type of attack to make any future attempt less impactful.

At no point was any private data accessed and we do not store any payment details on our website - they are handled by our card payment provider - so your transactions have been and are always safe. If you made an order during this period it processed as normal, but if you have any questions please do reply to this email.

Warm regards,

The Peakbody Team
